CSAE Conference : French and English communities: mutual benefits to expect from collaboration

In this interactive panel, we will debate the benefits of the collaboration between the different linguist communities in Canada. Our starting point is bilingualism in associations across the country, but we will dive deeper in what brings different linguist communities together, similar challenges, the advantages your organization can take from this collaboration, and the importance of including this subject in the governance’s agenda of any association and non-profits.

Two panelists will share their experiences on how to integrate a second language in their service offering, the obstacles they needed to overcome to collaborate, how they did it, and why it paid off.

The discussion will be led in both English and French by moderator Catherine Lamontagne, president of OROKOM, and will feature panelists Anie Perrault, CEO at BIOQuébec (French-Canadian association) and Cate McCready, VP External Affairs at BIOTECanada (pan-Canadian association).

In addition, the panel hosts will provide statistics on French and English communities and their economic and social potential across Canada associations’ bilingualism, the market share of business turnover by language in Canada, and more. Attendees will be invited to participate online on polls and will receive a downloadable checklist allowing than to auto evaluate the current offering of services by putting in perspective the array of linguistic communities that their organization can target.
